What is Carnforth and District Chamber of Trade?

Carnforth and District Chamber of Trade is a collection of businesses who have joined together to promote Carnforth and North Lancashire as a great place to do business.

The members of the Chamber are diverse in what they do and also in size.

The Chamber of Trade maintains links with other bodies operating in and around Carnforth such as Carnforth Town Council, Lancaster City Council, Lancashire County Council and Lancaster Chamber of Commerce. Any information received from these sources (or others) that may be of interest to members is distributed by email to keep businesses up to date with issues that may affect them.

A Shop Watch scheme is run for retailers which operates by telephone and WhatsApp. This provides a town wide advance warning service against shoplifters, counterfeit money or other potential threats.

Carnforth and District Chamber of Trade organises the annual Christmas switch-on and puts up the festive lights. An annual arts and crafts market has returned in 2022 after being postponed for a few years by the pandemic. Each Easter Carnforth has Easter Eggs mounted on the shops along the main shopping street, this is organised by the Chamber of Trade. Summer hanging baskets of flowers are bought, put up and maintained by the efforts of Chamber of Trade members.
